General Purpose of Job

Camps require the support of top quality staff.

Instructional Classroom Assistants (ESP) will assist instructors and support students.

This position requires riding a bus the first 3 days of camp (additional hours for this).
Applications must be complete to be considered for Camp ROCKS! Academic Adventures positions.

July 8-11 (Mon-Thu)

July 15-18 (Mon-Thu)

July 22-25 (Mon-Thu)

Sites & Hours

Sites to be determined at a later date

Program hours are: 8:15 am-2:45 pm or 9:15 am-3:45 pm depending on site and bussing.

Lead instructor hours are: 8 am-3 pm or 9 am-4 pm

*Times could change based on final bus routes and other summer program needs.
Salary: Per casual salary contract guidelines

Timeline: Staffing decisions will be made by May and are dependent on final student enrollment numbers.

Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Provide instructional support to and develop capacity of special education staff, in collaboration with Student Service Coordinators, building administrators, teachers and other stakeholders, to meet system-wide and local school initiatives to ensure equitable student achievement gains; support the effective completion of due process for each scholar receiving special education services; provide strategic leadership support and collaboration to special education teachers and teams; support scholar engagement and ensure scholars receive education in the Least Restrictive Environment; monitor scholar progress and applying appropriate supports and interventions; make appropriate and equitable use of services, resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the district, Student Services Department, and school for which employed; maintain contact and communication with staff, administrators, colleagues, scholars, and guardians/caregivers; collaborate within and across departments, programs, and sites; participate in district, building, and department leadership activities; provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous support when applicable. Special Education Building Coordinator (SEBC)

Minimum qualifications include:

Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience in special education, preferably a minimum of five years; demonstrated leadership experience with adults.
Valid Minnesota special education license in appropriate field or valid license in a related service area, MN teaching license in appropriate field, OR a valid MN teaching license in another field and willing to obtain an Out of Field Permission.*
If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 2 License.*

Who we are:
Osseo Area Schools Adult Basic Education (ABE) is looking for a teacher to provide instruction in its program starting for the fall of 2023.  Our school serves nearly 1,000 students age 17 and older each year.  Our students come from over 60 countries and speak nearly 50 languages.  95% of our students self-identify as a person of color.  We are a student-centered program, with classes in core content areas as well as technology and workplace skills.  We are located in the heart of Brooklyn Center, MN, at the Northwest Family Service Center, and collaborate with our social services building partners to provide support to our learners to be successful in class as well as in the community.

Job Summary:
To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Provide instruction and support in the curriculum areas for which employed; make appropriate and equitable use of instructional resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the district, school and/or program for which employed; maintain contact and communication with guardians/caregivers of scholars, working with them in the development of their scholar; design, deliver, and assess curriculum according to district guidelines; provide in-person, synchronous and asynchronous learning when applicable and work collaboratively with others. Willing to participate in district and building leadership activities.

The teacher in this position will teach a class of up to 20 adults Tuesday and Thursday  evening from 5:30-8:30 pm as our EL Level C (evening) Instructor. Teachers in our program receive 30 minutes of prep and non-contact time for every hour of direct instruction to attend meetings, prepare for class, and complete other professional duties.

Our EL Level D instruction is Level C standard content in reading, writing, speaking and listening. using the CCRS (College and Career Readiness Standards), ACES/TIF and NSDL (Northstar Digital Literacy).
