Job Summary: Under the direction of the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator, the Community Liaison enhances student learning by helping students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other school staff to center racial equity and cultural relevancy into student engagement, parent engagement, community engagement, and staff development. Furthermore, to build and maintain supportive relationships that strengthen student and family connections to school and support the elimination of racial disparities, racial isolation, and to achieve equitable student achievement.
Responsibilities and tasks include:
- Providing an ongoing marketing and promotion plan and public information program aimed at continuously informing internal and external stakeholders about Family and Community Engagement programs and services.
- Managing and compiling data regarding Family and Community Engagement outreach activities; developing recommendations for program goals and improvement; assisting in preparation of periodic reports.
Scheduling, planning and conducting meetings with stakeholders for the purpose of coordinating program activities and initiatives. - Identifying and interfacing with local community resources and agencies that work closely with bipoc communities.
- Building connections with the diverse communities and assisting families with participation in Family and Community Engagement programs.
- Developing relationships between the School District, Family and Community Engagement department, and community resources.
- Planning, developing and implementing informational literature, brochures, television, radio, and website information to develop family and community awareness about Family and Community Engagement initiatives.
- Maintaining a planned and systematic program of communications and accountability aimed at continuously informing external and internal stakeholders of Family and Community Engagement plans and activities.
- Working cooperatively with and collaborating with various community and school agencies, parental and neighborhood groups in the development of Family and Community Engagement outreach initiatives.
- Maintain liaison with district, state, and community committees and representatives in the development and implementation of Family and Community Engagement outreach projects and initiatives.
- Assist site administrators in providing a climate that supports and welcomes students and families to the School District and helps to raise the awareness level of the district as a whole and Family and Community Engagement services.
- Perform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
