Coach – Head Boys Hockey

Job Title:  Head Coach – Boys Hockey

Job Summary:  The head coach is responsible for planning, directing and leading an education based athletic program that seeks to develop the whole child’s well being.

Traits of an Effective Coach:
Demonstrates a high degree of empathy, positivity, trust, responsibility, discipline and flexibility. A successful head coach is a developer, teacher, achiever, manager, leader and problem solver.

Performance Responsibilities:Accept and implement the co-curricular philosophy of High School athletics.
Follows the rules and regulations of the school, conference and the MSHSL.
Attend the rules interpretation meeting held by the MSHSL.
Maintain a membership in the appropriate coaches association and participate so that our school has representation.
Attend clinics, seminars and in-service programs in order to improve coaching skills and to stay current with new trends in coaching, training, conditioning and safety procedures.
Attend school, conference and section coaches meetings.
Give input about, and then carry out, the interscholastic schedule as drawn up by the Activities Director.
Organize, schedule and supervise practice sessions.
Submit and verify transportation requests for scrimmages, practices and events.
Supervise the use of equipment in your sport.
Assist the Activities Director with the development of a written annual inventory and make recommendations for purchases to the Activities Director.
Assist the Activities Director with the distribution and collection of equipment and supplies.
Regularly inspect equipment and facilities to ensure the safety of each student-athlete.
Responsible for reporting scores and disseminating team information for publicity.
Participate in pre and postseason meetings with the Activities Director. The postseason meeting will serve as an evaluation conference.
Delegate responsibility to the assistant coaches as appropriate.
Organize and participate in an end of season information and evaluation session with all assistant coaches.
Work to develop continuity between the community and school programs.
Provide leadership for the program for all levels of the sport (K-12).
Only allows athletes certified by the Activities Office to participate.
Maintains appropriate supervision of his/her program at all times (locker rooms, practices, events, bus rides, etc.). Supervises any and all space used by athletes while they are present.
Assures that the squad at all times will reflect proper attitude and conduct at home or away.
Encourages young men and women to participate in sports and other co-curricular activities other than his/her own but does not attempt to influence the specific sport or activity.
Establishes and uses a system of communication to athletes and parents that will include explanation of program policies, awards, procedures, goals and schedules.
Has responsibility for the end of season awards programs.
Represents the school in a professional manner in demeanor, language, and conduct (based on standards established by the Activities Director).
Develop and maintain current knowledge of the activity.
All other duties as assigned by the Activities Director.

Job Goals:
To accept the responsibility of the program and work with the student-athletes in the sport assigned and to provide life lessons that will positively impact the physical, social and emotional well being of all who are involved.

Summer 2024 Security and Emergency Management – ESP Clerical

Job summary: Assist the Security and Emergency Management (SEM) department with summer initiatives throughout the entire school district. Candidates must possess strong clerical skills and be a self-starter. In addition, candidates must have a positive attitude, be willing to work as part of a team, and be flexible with their daily assignments.

Responsibilities and tasks include: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental job duties:

Sort, distribute,and display signage in all district classrooms
Measure windows in all district classrooms and document results
Print, sort, compile, and distribute binders
Sort and document department equipment
Print department materials
Minimum qualifications include:
Must be at least 16 years of age
Valid Minnesota Driver’s License and clean driving record
Be able to provide their own transportation to be used during the workday (IRS mileage reimbursement will be provided)
Must be able to read a road map and a building floor plan
Must be able to lift up 10 pounds repeatedly on a daily basis and up to 50 pounds on occasion
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
Communicating effectively in verbal and written formats
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and email
Data entry and record keeping skills
Ability to collaborate effectively
Organizing and managing time effectively

Work schedule: 8 hs/day; 40hrs per week (7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday)

Job Type or FTE: Summer; Casual, (Approximately June 10, 2024 through August 30, 2024)

Salary Range: Starting rate of pay $17.62/hour

General Purpose of Job: To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Perform tasks and duties associated with the maintenance and care of district facilities, equipment and grounds.

Responsibilities:
Perform general housekeeping tasks to include dust mopping classrooms and hallway floors, stripping and sealing resilient and hard surface floors, washing windows, walls, lockers. Vacumn all carpeted areas of the building with Back Pack, upright or space vacuums.
Set up and take down equipment, e.g., tables, chairs, band shell, etc.
Summer cleaning of school buildings.
Perform other duties as required or directed by appropriate supervisors.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES: General mechanical abilities. Human Relations: Helping and taking instructions
