Student Support Dean

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Student Support Dean serves as a support to overall student success.  This position is responsible for the leadership and delivery of all school wide behavioral programs.  This position supports students through decision making, restorative practices, and conflict resolution. The Student Support Dean actively supports all school and District policies.  The focus is on engaging, supporting and empowering students, in order to increase and improve communication and cultural understanding, resolve concerns student-student, student to school, and school to family, and increase protective factors for students. Build long-term, meaningful relationships with diverse families resulting in more parent involvement and student success.  Build long-term, meaningful relationships with teachers and other building staff resulting in more student success.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Serves as an active member of the school leadership team.
2.Assists students in establishing high standards of conduct by supporting the school wide positive behavior intervention support system.
3.Coordinates with student supports including county, district and city resources.
4.Works in collaboration with attendance, administration and counseling departments.
5. In collaboration with school administration, investigates school/student related disciplinary incidents and follows through with appropriate consequences.
6. Oversees student management and supervision including during lunch and before and after school.
7. Provides leadership, direction and coaching to our attendance and security team.
8. Explains and interprets school and district policies.
9. Assists the administrative team with school wide behavior systems.
10. Provides feedback on school policies and practices.
11.Supports students with peer and teacher relationships, conflict resolution, goal setting, college career planning and coping strategies.
12. Engages and encourages student participation in both curricular and extra-curricular activities including athletics.
13. Works directly and in collaboration with the administrative team.
14. Lead and organizes the lunch and learn intervention.
15. Leads the building initiatives to provide alternatives to suspension.
16. Provides individual and group support in the areas of decision making.
17. Implements monitors, and evaluates enrichment programs, study groups and support groups for students
18. Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
19. Help students and their families understand and navigate the school system to achieve academic success.
20. Helps provide lay counseling in a variety of situations and conflicts that may arise due to cultural differences, and refer to professional staff when appropriate.
21. Facilitate student groups and encourage leadership- including leading our male leadership group.
22. Inform and educate the school staff on restorative justice practice and the relationship between equity issues and school consequences.
23. Other duties as assigned.

Reading – 6th Grade

This position would teach 4 sections of 6th grade reading and 1 section of the Tiger Program each semester. The Tiger Program class teaches SEL skills to students with a class size of around 15 students.

Qualifications:

A valid Minnesota teaching license in English Language Arts, grades 5-12 Communication Arts/Literature or K-6 Elementary Education preferred
Experience with English Language Arts teaching at secondary level
Possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
Previous experience preferred
Ability to work with teams of adults

Business/Career Education Instructor

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students’ business academics classes to provide the knowledge needed for intelligent consumption of business services; to develop practical business skills for personal use or for use in business occupations; and to encourage students to develop work and personal habits essential for success in business.

The certified teacher develops lesson plans, conducts classroom instruction, evaluates, and assesses both instructional material and student performance. The teacher interprets student progress and communicates with parents about student strengths, weaknesses, and/or programs. The teacher is a member of an interdisciplinary team and works collaboratively with colleagues to make decisions about team programming and supporting students through intervention and enrichment.

technology systems and hardware systems used within Eastern Carver County Schools. This position manages systems’ lifecycles by developing procedures and process to manage and ensure systems reliability and integration. The Technology Integration Specialist is also responsible for understanding and supporting district network and instructional technology initiatives and for communicating and implementing these initiatives with the Instructional Support team

Middle School Guidance Counselor or School Social Worker

Position Summary:
The Counselor or School Social Worker shall be an integral part of the total instructional program directed toward the growth and development of all students who come from diverse, cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.  Assist students with personal goal setting, family systems/change and crisis intervention.  The Counselor/school Social Worker shall also strive to provide a positive atmosphere in which students are encouraged and assisted to develop feelings of acceptance, self-respect, emotional security, and achievement. OMS counselors are also responsible for generating and updating 504 plans for the students they serve while School Social Workers help meet IEP goals for students receiving special education services.

Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Guidance & Counseling or School Counselor licensure. Bachelor’s degree with coursework in School Guidance Counseling, or related field and moderate experience.  Master’s degree and MN School Social Work license required.

Assistant Principal, High School

– Assists in evaluating and communicating student behavior, maintaining student discipline and enforcing the student discipline policies

Qualifications:
