Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be Highly Qualified.
  • Two or four year degree preferred
  • Previous experience working with elementary students in an educational setting preferred

Job Summary:  

Responsible for providing an educational environment that will help students with disabilities in learning and fulfill their growth potential.  Assists special education teachers to work with students on their academic and social behavioral skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify the needs of assigned students with disabilities through formal and informal assessments
  • Ability to handle confrontational situations with students and use good judgement with student restraint if necessary
  • Assist with lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth
  • Communicate with students, parents and staff on a regular basis on student progress
  • Ability to follow directions easily
  • Attend department, school and parent meetings
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

EL Paraprofessional

This position will be based out of OH Anderson.  Salary and benefits are part of the Para Master Agreement.  This position is eligible for benefits: medical, dental, Life, LTD, Vision and 403b

Job Summary: 
This position will work directly with students in literacy during intervention time with emphasis in EL.   This position will work under the direction and guidance of the ELL teacher to support the academic needs of students.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be Highly Qualified with a minimum two-year degree preferred.  Previous experience working with secondary level students in an educational setting preferred.
Must enjoy working with students to provide a high quality, inclusive learning environment.  Must exhibit patience, resiliency and a positive mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Highly Qualified paraprofessional status according to state guidelines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students and staff; ability to adapt to students needs daily
  • Previous experience working with ELL students within an elementary setting preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills; use of good judgment in making decisions
  • Ability to work independently; high motivation to succeed in the role
  • Strong passion working with students to achieve academic goals
  • High level communication skills to work effectively with students, families and staff/colleagues

Gifted and Talented Coordinator

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a valid MN teaching license or able to obtain the appropriate license from PELSB, Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure in gifted education preferred
  • Previous experience coordinating Advanced Academics (gifted and talented) programming preferred
  • Cluster teaching experience preferred
  • Must have high degree knowledge of characteristics of advanced learners and best practices in assessment of and programming for children with a readiness for advanced academics (gifted)
  • Minimum of five years successful classroom experience
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues, community and students to achieve district, building and student goals
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents and staff to meet educational goals
  • Maintain a culture of collaboration, collective inquiry and evidence-decision making for continuous improvement

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead the Advanced Academics (gifted and talented) programming
  • Plan, develop and support teachers with appropriate lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth
  • Facilitate the identification process through formal and informal assessments and use data to formally identify students who meet the criteria “readiness for advance academics” designation (gifted)
  • Support the implementation of the District’s strategic plan
  • Plan and lead events to provide support for all identified learners
  • Provide leadership to the Gifted and Talented Advisory Committee
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders about Advanced Academics (gifted and talented) programming
  • Communicate with students, parents and staff on regular basis on student progress
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
  • Provide professional learning opportunities and coaching of teachers in meeting the needs of advanced learners.
  • Update all necessary records accurately as required by laws, district policies and school regulations
  • Attend department, school and parent meetings or functions
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

5th Grade Odyssey- Gifted and Talented Services Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid elementary education- K-6 teaching license in the State of Minnesota.
Teachers must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.

Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
