Position Summary:  
The School Social Worker promotes and enhances the overall academic as well as social and emotional mission by providing services that strengthen home/school/community partnerships and alleviate barriers to learning.  The School Social Worker significantly contributes to the development of a healthy, safe and caring environment by advancing the understanding of the emotional and social development of children and the influences of family, community and cultural differences on student success and by implementing effective intervention strategies.  The School Social Worker works collaboratively with the other School Social Worker and Behavior Interventionists.

Position Requirements:
Master’s degree and licensure as a School Social Worker.  Experience and training in group and individual skills work with school-age population.  Working knowledge in areas of trauma-responsiveness, child abuse and neglect.  Sensitivity to students in need and the ability to communicate effectively with students, adults and community agencies.  Preferred county-wide knowledge of community resources.

2023-24 Minnesota Educators Partnership Graduate Teaching Fellowships

Instructional Coach

District 518 is offering a $2,000 hiring incentive for teaching positions in which an individual is new to our School District.  Current open positions will see a minimum of $2,000 incentive for joining our District and joining our team.

Instructional coaches support instructional growth and development of teachers in their first three years with ISD 518 in the areas of implementing effective instructional strategies, classroom management, analyzing student work, differentiated instruction, class culture and climate, supporting ELL and students with special needs, etc. Instructional coaches use multiple data collection tools and protocols that guide new teachers in reflecting on practice and monitoring progress towards professional goals for instructional improvement.

Instructional coaches work closely with classroom teachers, site leaders, other Induction Coaches, and administrators to accelerate instructional effectiveness of new teachers for a positive impact on student learning.

Individuals selected for the position of Instructional coach will attend training and professional development throughout the school year through SWWC and New Teacher Center (NTC). Position Summary:

Under the direction and guidance of the Executive Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing daily administrative, secretarial assistance, and support to the Human Resources Department.  The Human Resource Generalist coordinates specific office functions associated with the Human Resources Department and provides support for associated staff.

  • Administers the Frontline Recruiting & Hiring online employment application system and Absence Management system.
  • Maintains and updates files for personnel records, correspondence, and onboarding.
  • Maintains and updates files for personnel reports, policies, contracts, forms, and systems.
  • Assists Director of Human Resources with employee leave processing.
  • Point of contact with PELSB for all teacher licensure applications and questions.
  • Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.

  • Post-secondary training or commensurate experience will be considered
  • Computer skills and proficiency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
