Job Summary
The Licensed School Nurse will provide for the special health needs of students at all grade levels. This position will maintain and monitor a district-wide system of first aid, emergency care, medication administration and health related procedures for all students. The LSN provides oversight, direction and training to school health assistants and other health office personnel.
Job Functions
Provide direct professional nursing services, first aid, illness, and emergency care to students and staff in response to the nursing assessment and in accordance with professional standards, school policy and procedures, and state and local mandates.
Oversee distribution of medications to students according to school district policy.
Maintain accurate medical records to ensure compliance with State mandates, including immunizations, physical examinations, medical conditions, and related services documentation.
Provide training in matters of health practice to health assistant and substitutes.
Maintain accurate documentation of delegated health procedures on the Specialized Health Care Procedure Log.
Provide assistance and supervision of paraprofessionals providing services to students under the category of Activities of Daily Living and approves Third Party Billing forms.
Follow Minnesota Department of Health screening guidelines for vision and hearing.
Oversee computerized Health Record system for the district.
Complete quarterly Health Services Statistical Reports.
Participate in planning and implementation of 504 plans and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Ensure accident/incident reports for staff and students are filed appropriately and in a timely manner.
Participate in ongoing staff development specific to health services.
Other duties as assigned.
Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Assistant at Lincoln Center for the 2023-24 school year. This position works 6.5 hours per day plus half hour duty-free lunch, Monday – Friday, school days only. Riding morning and/or afternoon bus routes may be included with this position. The rate of pay is $20.16 per hour, based on the 2021-23 Master Agreement between SSP #6 and Local No. 7312, Educational Support Professionals. This position reports to the Director of Student Services and Building Administrator.
Job Summary
Assist special education teacher in supporting the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in regular and special education setting. Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-care, behavior regulation, and instruction programs. Accompany special education students on bus routes as required in the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Job Functions
Assist students off the bus and into their first class of the day as needed.
Assist students with clothing when needed, clearing locker and escort students to the afternoon or transportation.
Accompany special education students on bus routes as required in the student’s IEP. As assigned, ride the bus and supervise students as they enter and leave the bus, monitor for behavioral or physical needs to ensure student safety.
Assist students with self-care activities including but not limited to toileting, dressing, eating as required by Case Manager.
Assist students to be safe and socially appropriate on the playground or recess activities.
Follow case manager or special education teacher directions in modifying or accommodating student assignments.
Work within the special education program such as SUN or EBD to assist students with teacher assigned tasks. Modify or accommodate as directed by the special education teacher
Regularly monitor student progress using collection techniques developed by case manager or special education teacher.
Follow Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Positive Behavior Intervention Support Plan (PBISP) as directed by case manager.
Perform accurate and timely reporting of services and progress for student’s IEP, Third Party Billing records, report cards, progress notes and/or conferences as directed by case manager.
Participate in all required trainings as requested.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, staff, families and community members.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance.

Essential Functions: A full-time (1.0 FTE) Third Grade Teacher at Jefferson Elementary School. Performs professional work providing a broad range of teaching services within our elementary school, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience. This position commences with the 2023-24 School Year on August 21, 2023.
Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

JOB FUNCTION:
As a school counselor, his/her primary function shall be to assist students in reaching their potential and assist them in developing positive and realistic self-concepts.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The school counselor shall:
1. Counseling. He/she shall:
a. Provide counseling which will assist each student toward increased personal growth, self-understanding and maturity.
b. Help determine the best educational placement of students.
c. Work with students individually or in groups toward solution of personal concerns.
2. Student appraisal. He/she shall:
a. Help students evaluate their aptitudes and abilities by interpreting standardized test results and other pertinent data.
b. Help students in the evolution of their educational, occupational and lifetime goals.
c. In cooperation with building principals, interpret results of the district’s testing program to staff, administrators or the community.
d. Supervise or assist in the maintenance of accurate cumulative records.
e. Help students make realistic assessments of the requirements of post-secondary educational institutions in which they express interest.
3. Information services. He/she shall:
a. Orient new students on school procedures and opportunities and help in the proper transfer of records.
b. Provide information to students and parents/guardians about course offerings, financial assistance and other information about post-secondary education.
c. Plan visits to schools, colleges or industries for interested students.
d. Provide career guidance and information about job opportunities for students leaving formal education.
e. Help develop parental involvement in the guidance and counseling program.
f. Orient students, staff, administrators and the community on the guidance and counseling program.
4. Referral. He/she shall:
a. Refer students who need special services to the proper individual or agency.
b. Help teachers with any student who demonstrates a possible special need in the classroom.
c. Participate in the M-team process.
5. Consultation. He/she shall:
a. Confer with parents/guardians when necessary serving as a consultant concerning the personal, educational and social development of their child.
b. Work closely with the faculty on student needs and seek their assistance when needed.
6. Program development. He/she shall:
a. In cooperation with administrators, develop a written kindergarten through grade 12 school counseling program.
b. Participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the established school counseling program.
c. Maintain current information regarding developments and procedures in the school counseling field.
7. Help the community gain a better understanding of school counseling services. He/she shall:
a. Release information to the news media that pertains to the school counseling program.
b. Schedule parent/teacher conferences when appropriate.
c. Participate in programs of civic organizations and other community groups when invited to do so.
Other Responsibilities:
The school counselor shall:
1. Function under the ethical code of the American Association for Counseling and Development (AACD).
2. Assume all other responsibilities and perform all other duties as assigned by the elementary, middle or high school principal or director of pupil services for the benefit of the district.
