Essential Functions:

Deliver classroom instruction; implement lesson plans on instructional units; develop and determine methods, approaches and instructional units; maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

Assess and evaluate student performance against lesson plans; determine the need for re-instruction or need for new approach; reinforce information previously taught in the classroom; determine grades for reporting purposes; monitor student performance and behaviors and determine how to approach bad behaviors.

Develop and plan instructional activities; develop and implement lesson plans personalized for individual student needs; assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs); implement student assessments and evaluate results; determine assessment process for instructional units; research topics and materials designed to improve instructional presentations.

Prepare for substitute teachers; communicate with parents and participate in parent/student conferences; participate and prepare for peer evaluation process.

Supervise students during the school day according to the established building schedule; provide indirect supervision during regular school days.

Collaborate with staff in evaluating individual student issues and approaches to instructional units; evaluate new teaching technologies and/or procedures.

Participate in meetings (building staff meetings, departmental meetings, grade level meetings, staff development, open house/orientation) as necessary or required; attend professional development activities.

Special Education Math Teacher

Intermediate District 287 is a west metro district for learners with unique needs.  As an intermediate district, we provide specialized services, primarily setting IV special education, to students from 11 member districts in the west metro.

Elementary Principal

Position Information:  Directs and implements the policies of the School District and supervises the instructional staff and curriculum with the elementary school.  Conducts assigned special projects as delegated by district administration.

School District:  Independent School District No. 241, Albert Lea Minnesota, enrolls 3300 students.  The district operates four Elementary Schools, a Middle School, an 8-12 High School, and an Area Learning Center.

Community:  The School District serves the Freeborn County area with all school buildings located in Albert Lea.  The city of Albert Lea is the county seat and is situated at the junction of federal Interstate Highways 90 and 35 in southeastern Minnesota.

Qualifications:  Applicants shall have, or be eligible for, Minnesota licensure as an elementary principal.  Applicant should possess a minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience.  Prefer K-12 licensure and elementary principal experience.

Compensation:  Salary range is $100,898 – $114,240 depending on experience.  A substantial fringe benefit package will be made available. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a relocation incentive of $15,000.

Student Supervisor

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for the position of Student Supervisor at Kaposia Education Center Elementary School for the 2023-24 school year.  This position works 3.5 hours per day (10:15 AM -1:45 PM); student contact days only.  Rate of pay is $16.45 per hour; Independent-Student Support Non-Certified.

Job Summary
Supervise students under established rules, policies and procedures in a variety of areas including classrooms, hallways, lunchroom, playground and gymnasium.

Job Functions

Supervise students in classrooms, lunchroom, playground, hallways or gym.
Supervise students participating in designated classroom activities as assigned.
Supervise students during breakfast or lunch periods.
Oversee breakfast or lunch clean up.
Clean and sanitize tables between lunch periods.
Inform maintenance of any spills that need to be taken care of in the lunchroom.
Ensure students line up and move about the lunchroom and hallways in an orderly and safe manner.
Communicate with students in a positive and supportive manner.
Assist with creating and maintaining a positive and safe environment for all students.
Manage student conflicts using established procedures and processes.
Intervene in inappropriate behavior and record major behavior issues on the office referral form.
Ensure students line up and move through school in an orderly and safe manner.
Be a positive example by modeling respectful behavior and using problem-solving strategies.

Media and Technology Teacher (Long-Term Substitute)

Job Summary
Deliver district approved digital citizenship, keyboarding, coding, robotics and other basic technology instruction to designated grade levels of elementary students based on master schedule for the school.

Job Functions

Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.  Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families and community members.
Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools.
Collaborate with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
