SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER- EBD/LD
1.0 FTE – Centennial High School- Starting August 21, 2023
183 Workdays       7:15 AM – 3:15 PM

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid special education teaching license, preference given to those with EBD/LD license with the State of Minnesota or ability to be licensed.
Teachers must be able to demonstrate the highest commitment to student achievement and effective development.
Teachers must have the willingness to adapt to becoming part of a total school effort in educating our students.
Teachers must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff members, students and parents in providing and promoting positive relationships.
Teachers must be of the highest integrity with a strong commitment to modeling excellence in all aspects of the teacher/student/parent relationships.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

WAGES:
Candidates will be placed on the teacher contract and will receive benefits according to the CEA
contract.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
In collaboration with the high school principal, assists in providing leadership in the following areas:
*learning climate
*curriculum and instruction
*school-community relations
*supervision and evaluation
*resource management
*school activities
*staff development
*mediation, discipline and attendance
*AVID site coordinator
*testing facilitation and management
*Perkins and 916 facilitation
*alternative education coordination
*other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold a valid Minnesota license as a secondary school principal or be in the process of completing the requirements for a license.
A minimum of one (1) year of recent successful educational leadership experience is required.
Recent successful experience at the level of assistant principal or higher is preferred.
Proven strong skills in inter-personal communications required.
Demonstrated skills in any of the following areas preferred: collaborative decision making, supervision, evaluation, curriculum development, planning and motivation.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the school board may find appropriate and
acceptable.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Start Date: July 1, 2023
Salary is consistent with the current principals’ master agreement.

Graduate Teaching Fellowship, Social Studies

2023-24 Graduate Teaching Fellowships

Minnesota State University, Mankato

Openings are available for the Graduate Teaching Fellow Program (classroom experience while working on a masters degree program in Education).  Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Teaching degree in Social Studies.

Seniors in a teacher education program who will complete all requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Teaching degree, complete all required testing, and obtain appropriate Minnesota teacher licensure by August, 2023, or recent teacher education graduates (who have not held regular teaching appointments) are eligible to apply.  Application deadline:  until filled (applications will be forwarded as they are received).

Major Job Functions; Specific Tasks/Required Knowledge, Ability and Skills:   Eastern Carver County Schools believes that the public school has a role in education, intervention, and prevention of chemical use and abuse. The Chemical Health Counselor works with the building administration and the counseling office to meet the social, emotional, behavioral health of students who demonstrate areas of need or exposure to chemical use or dependency. Through individual and group counseling services and outside services and supports, develops alternative solutions to support informed decision making in order for student learning to continue in a safe educational environment
