Job Summary:
Develop the student’s fullest acquisition of knowledge, skills, concepts, and attitudes.

Job Functions

Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.  Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students.
Maintain knowledge and skills with IB Program changes and updates.
Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine priorities for their children’s social, emotional and academic growth.
Partner with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic issues or special academic interests.
Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools. Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress.
Administer standardized, formative and state mandated assessments and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
Adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Support the district’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
Understand and maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families and staff.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, staff, families and community members.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.

Science and Medical Careers Teacher

4. Medical Career Electives

Qualifications:
Valid MN teaching license in medical careers required (licensure in science a plus).

Summer School Services Coordinator – 2023

We are seeking an individual to fill the role of Summer School Services Coordinator for the 2023 Summer Program(s). The ideal candidate will provide direct supervision of Targeted Services K-12 Programs, Extended School Year Programs, and Credit Recovery Programs for Rush City Schools. A Bachelor’s Degree in Education, a Minnesota Teacher License and experience working with students and parents is required. Necessary qualifications include ability to apply problem solving skills in handling program issues and concerns, excellent communication and human relations skills, good organizational skills, ability to manage time and responsibilities, as well as excellent decision-making and problem solving skills.

Dates are from July 10 – 28 with the hours of 7:30 am – 12:30 pm each day. An additional 15 hours of work time prior to and following these dates is possible. Compensation will follow the Rush City School Teacher Contract for summer employment. The ability to perform these duties for administrative program hours as a requirement toward education, is a possibility, however this would then be an unpaid position.

High School Counselor

Rush City High School (Grades 7-12) is seeking a full-time School Counselor to begin the 2023-24 school year.  The licensed School Counselor is responsible for providing a school counseling program that is preventative in design and focuses on all three domains: Career, Academics and Personal/Social. The School Counselor will work with high school aged students to serve the academic, career, college, social and emotional needs of students. Appropriate Minnesota licensure is required. English /Language Arts Teacher

* Bachelor’s Degree in educational field or able to get a Tier 1 license through PELSB (4 year degree required) OR
* Licensed by the State of Minnesota to teach English Language Arts – Grades 9-12 or able to get a Tier 1 license

Literacy Media Specialist

The District Literacy Media Specialist provides leadership and guidance in promoting, supporting, and encouraging literacy, coordinating the resources and services of instructional media centers at schools district-wide, and assisting administrators, faculty, and students in the utilization of resources to enhance instruction and improve student achievement.

Position Requirements:
Valid Minnesota teaching licensure, reading licensure required, and certification as Librarian and or Library/Media Specialist preferred.
