Location: Educational Service Center

 

Description: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning by providing specialized clerical and technical duties related to the assignment or placement, as well as related responsibilities requiring creative solutions to specialized site/department needs. Answer correspondence and assemble highly confidential and sensitive information. Interact with a diverse group of external customers as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and carry out a diversified workload, and make recommendations for changes in office practices or procedures.

 

Job Summary: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental job duties:

Delivering customer service that embodies the District mission

Assisting site/department leaders with communications

Acting as liaison between parent(s), student(s), guardian(s), community and site/department staff

Communicating and coordinating services with internal and external vendors to ensure adequate service to our school system

Performing general office duties such as typing, filing, copying, faxing

Attending meetings and recording meeting minutes as requested

Scheduling and preparing materials, rooms and sites for meetings, events and/or conferences

Creating, updating and maintaining handbooks and manuals

Developing and distributing communications to site/department and internal and/or external vendors

Maintaining site/department and/or supervisor’s calendar

 

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Previous office experience preferred.

 

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Scanning and/or retrieving information located on the system’s network

Creating and/or entering data into spreadsheets and/or databases

Maintaining student and staff records (e.g. student grades, absences, class changes)

Assisting with the planning and coordination of site and/or departmental events as needed (e.g. graduations, awards ceremonies, student orientations)

Supporting site/department conferences, meetings and special events

Coordinating work direction for special projects/assignments

Arranging coverage due to absence, special meetings or events

Maintaining a safe environment for students

Issuing leave/appointment passes/partial absence slips to students

Facilitating communication between building leaders/staff to alert about emergency situations

Monitoring and assisting drills and evacuations

Performing other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned

 

Job Type: Full-time, 260 Days – Class IIB

 

Salary: View salary grid on Page 5, Section 1, and Classification, Pages 6 – 7, Section 3 of the Administrative Education Support Professionals (AESPs) contract

 

Work schedule: 40 hours per week; full year

 

Bargaining unit: Administrative Education Support Professionals (AESPs)

 

Desired start date : As soon as possible.

Academic Specialist – Middle School

Job Description:
A 7.5 hour/day position for 185 days at Faribault Middle School to provide primary support with the use of technology by the students and staff while school is in session, to improve the academic achievement of all students through interventions. Manages the daily use and activities of the media center; assists with selection of materials and the enforcement of a climate conducive to learning; checks materials in and out for students.  Assists testing coordinator and school administration in facilitating district assessments. This position begins on September 11, 2023.

Essential Functions:

Serve as a member of the Middle School Staff
Assist testing coordinator in facilitating student assessments
Work with students during school on an assigned “check and connect” caseload to monitor and communicate student progress, attendance, and weekly assignments, activities and assessments with teachers, and families.
Collaborate with staff
Stay current with best practices research and strategies
Other duties as assigned

Media Specialist / Digital Citizenship Teacher

Position Information:

1.0 FTE
This position teaches 4 sections of a 6th grade course called Digital Citizenship.  Digital Citizenship is designed to introduce topics relevant to a student’s online life.  Students will learn how to be appropriate online, how to respond to inappropriate things online, as well as how to use digital and online tools to create their own content.  The rest of the day is allocated to media specialist work for both the high school and middle school.

Qualifications:

Must hold a valid Minnesota teaching license Must hold a valid Minnesota teaching license in any subject for grades 5-8 or K-12 Library Media Specialist
Possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
Previous experience preferred

 

Secretary, ABE Evening Intake & Testing

Paraprofessional Class II

Under the direction of licensed special education teacher and/or related services staff, the Special Education Paraprofessional assists one or more students in accomplishing activities of daily living; instrumental activities of daily living, health related functions; redirection and intervention of behavior; and other tasks as are identified within assigned students’ IEPs. Special Education Paraprofessionals may be assigned to work with students who have special healthcare/medical needs, have behavior intervention plans or require other forms of specialized care.
