Qualifications/Experience:

Minnesota Director of Special Education Licensure required.

Minnesota Teaching License required.

Experience in special education or related fields, understanding and experience with student support services. Experience as a Special Education Administrator, Special Education Supervisor, Principal, Assistant Principal, or other curriculum advisor or due process compliance officer desired.

Successful background check required.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of Minnesota and federal special education regulations, student support services, compliance standards, and Common Core State Standards. Proficiency in data extraction, reporting, and analysis tools to support decision-making and program evaluation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively to identify and resolve challenges effectively. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to facilitate meetings, resolve conflict, develop and implement work plans, and engage with individuals and groups in various settings. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse populations, ensuring inclusive and productive engagement across different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

Specific Tasks:
The Director of Special Education and Student Support Services, under the Superintendent’s guidance, is responsible for creating and implementing a strategic vision and action plan for various student support initiatives, including special education, Section 504 compliance, health services, and support for homeless students. Key tasks include ensuring alignment with district goals and compliance with state and federal laws, driving continuous program improvement through data analysis, and overseeing professional development. The Director fosters collaboration among staff, families, and community partners to promote equitable resource access, manage budgets effectively, and achieve strong student outcomes. Hours Per Day:
1.0 FTE, 260 days per year, year-round position

Coordinator of Facilities Services

Assignment Information:
Our Coordinator of Facilities Services is a full-time, full year position.
The terms and conditions of this position are covered by an individual contract.
This benefit-eligible position currently has a salary range of $110,000-120,000.

District Information:
Minnetonka Schools has 1.8 million square feet of building space and 265 acres of grounds.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership over the District’s building custodial staff, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the department’s goals and operational plans.
  2. Oversee the daily operation of the building custodial staff throughout the District, including custodian services, security, energy conservation, and all support functions
  3. Regularly visit and inspect each building to evaluate the effectiveness of the building staff maintenance and cleaning.
  4. Perform the recruitment, selection, staff development, and evaluation of building custodial staff members.
  5. Serve as system administrator and perform all upgrade functions for District building security camera system, District security access card system, District blueprint system, District work order system, and District energy management systems in coordination with the District energy consultant.
  6. Assist the Executive Director of Finance & Operations and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in all matters pertaining to the maintenance members of Local 284.
  7. Serve as a member of the District’s administrative team and actively participate in the development, implementation, and achievement of the District’s strategic plans.
  8. Implement state and federal regulations and School Board policies related to maintenance of the district buildings.
  9. Oversee the department budget for custodial maintenance and approve the requisitions for supplies, equipment and materials necessary for the building staff to perform their duties.
  10. Develop and complete mutual commitments tied directly to the District’s Strategic Plan.
  11. Ensure buildings are staffed for custodial coverage on a daily basis and take action to ensure building cleaning is covered.
  12. Assist the Executive Director of Finance & Operations with building maintenance issues related to follow up from initial construction.
  13. Determine individual custodial work schedules and assignments.
  14. Evaluate and order all necessary materials, supplies and equipment for the custodial staff.
  15. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level, including all managerial tasks related to overseeing and running the maintenance of district buildings and custodial staff activities.
