Job Summary
Perform a variety of assigned tasks in the area of preparation and serving meals to students and staff in the school under established rules, policies and procedures.
Job Functions
Assemble, prepare, bake, and serve food items according to child nutrition guidelines, standardized recipes and directions from the Director and Assistant Director of Nutrition Services.
Assume responsibilities of Cook Manager in his/her absence
Assist with ordering and inventory including checking and storing deliveries
Substitute as lead cashier as needed. Perform all cashier procedures from start up to day end
Plan, prepare and manage breakfast service
Assist with food preparation, service, cashiering, and production records
Wash dishes, pots and pans, and other items in dish room
Maintain a clean work area and handle food properly using procedures established in HACCP plans
Utilize safety measures as it pertains to use and operation of equipment in the kitchen including utensils, knives, and other equipment
Represent a positive public relations environment with customers
Attend education classes, training classes and or workshops as required
Other duties as assigned by Director or Assistant Director of Nutrition Services
