This is a temporary position effective when students are on site based on the school calendar through the end of the school year.  The position will work 3.5 hours per day.

Kaposia Education Center: 10:15 AM – 1:45 PM

Lincoln Center:  10:10 AM – 1:40 PM

Job Summary
Supervise students under established rules, policies and procedures in a variety of areas including classrooms, hallways, lunchroom, and gymnasium.

Job Functions

Supervise students in classrooms, lunchroom, playground, hallways or gym.
Supervise students participating in designated classroom activities as assigned.
Supervise students during breakfast or lunch periods.
Oversee breakfast or lunch clean up.
Communicate with students in a positive and supportive manner.
Assist with creating and maintaining a positive and safe environment for all students.
Manage student conflicts using established procedures and processes.
Intervene in inappropriate behavior and record major behavior issues on the office referral form.
Ensure students line up and move through school in an orderly and safe manner.
Be a positive example by modeling respectful behavior and using problem-solving strategies.
Adhere to district policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Head Cook

Barnum Public Schools is looking for a Head Cook beginning with SY 2021-2022. This position is responsible for the overall operations of the Food Service department, including State, Federal and Health and Safety requirements related to school food service operations; menu planning and preparing, and serving healthy and delicious meals for students that meet State and Federal requirements; purchasing, inventory, commodities, food production and meals served reports, POS / student food service accounts maintenance, kitchen safety, required staff trainings and managing all Food Service staff.

Position Description: The PAES (Practical Assessment Exploration System) Lab provides special education students with general vocational skills and work experience in most careers. The lab includes assessment, work experience and development of work based behaviors. Students focus on 265 different hands-on jobs in five employment areas: Business/Marketing, Consumer/Service, Construction/Industrial, Processing/Production, and Computer/Technology.

Health Science & Nursing Instructor

Special Education Paraprofessional/Cleaner – SAIL Program (Kellogg, MN)

Special Education Paraprofessional
Location: Kellogg, MN

POSITION:
Hiawatha Valley Education District is seeking a talented Special Education Paraprofessional for the EBD (Emotional Behavior Disorders) SAIL Program, which is located in Kellogg, MN. This position is full-time during the 9-month School Year. This position will also include some janitorial tasks.

EMPLOYMENT DATE: School Year 2020-2021

RATE OF PAY: $14.25 – $19.25 per hour. Benefits package available.

QUALIFICATIONS:Must meet highly qualified criteria: Associates Degree or higher degree, or meets Minnesota Certified ParaPro Assessment
Certified in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Intervention (training provided)
Experience working with students with behavioral needs
Experience and skills in instructional role, use of technology, and interpersonal communications
Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and/or parents verbally and in writing
Ability to work with a team and take direction from supervising teacher
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Experience with Microsoft Office

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):    Assisting teachers in their teaching duties and other general responsibilities such as organizing teaching manuals, providing instructional support, rendering reinforcement activities, etc.
Performing clerical tasks such as maintaining student attendance records, filing student information and progress reports, making copies, creating bulletin boards, etc.
Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher (e.g. reinforcement of IEP goals and objectives, etc.) for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and student participation
Administers tests, homework, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the classroom
Collaborates with supervising teacher(s) or other staff as assigned for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with established guidelines
Monitors special education students (e.g. classroom, field trips, lunchroom, playground, during life enrichment activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment
General cleaning daily
