The St. Croix River Education District (SCRED) is committed to maximizing student outcomes for all learners through the use of data-based decision making, meaningful collaboration, and implementation of innovative, evidence-based practices.  We are seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) position beginning the 2020-21 school year. This position will work collaboratively with an experienced Teacher of the DHH and Educational Audiologist, as well as a team of dedicated low incidence professionals.

The Teacher of the DHH will support our member districts by engaging in the following primary activities:

  • Design programming for students with deaf and hard of hearing need
  • Provide effective direct and indirect services aligned to students’ IEP
  • Develop evaluation plans, complete assessments and interpret results of audiological assessments, collect data to determine educational needs, develop IEP goals, and monitor student progres
  • Determine equipment needs and monitor its use with assistance from the Educational Audiologis
  • Provide training in the use of specialized equipment or environmental modifications to both general and special education staff
  • Facilitate the acquisition of an interpreter, when needed
  • Collaborate and engage in creative problem-solving with general and special education teachers, other low incidence team members, interpreters, building administrators, special services supervisors, and medical providers.

Promise Fellow

Promise Fellows will be active members of the District’s Check & Connect team and will mentor at-risk high school youth. Promise Fellows will implement targeted interventions aimed at increasing attendance, decreasing behavior referrals and putting students on track to graduate with their class. Promise Fellows will assist the supervisor and site coordinator to keep program records and evaluate program outcomes, making changes as needed, based on evaluation data. Job Summary: The Director of Educational Technology and Information Systems is responsible for providing leadership in the identification, assessment, and management of technology needs for the school system; directing, coordinating, supervising, facilitating, or performing all tasks and elements needed to effect the comprehensive integration of appropriate technology into every facet of operations; and contributing to the integration of educational technology into classrooms, media centers, and district offices by providing professional leadership in all areas of technology planning and technology resource management.

Qualifications:
1.     Holds a Bachelor’s degree and has extensive experience with coursework in Education or Education
Administration. Master’s degree or equivalent educational/technology experience preferred.
2.     Has at least five years of experience in a related field
4.     Has demonstrated evidence of educational and/or technology leadership
5.     Has demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community
