The Green Bay Area Public School District, the fourth largest school district in the state of Wisconsin, is accepting applications for a Chief Financial Officer to begin on or before July 1, 2019. ​ A mutually agreeable start date will be established.  Screening of applications will begin on February 4, 2019.

The Chief Financial Officer directs fiscal, general administrative, and physical support services. Applicants who are qualified and interested in this position are encouraged to submit their application materials including a cover letter and resume.

Essential Functions:

1. Serves on the Superintendent’s Leadership Team as the representative from the Business Services Division and works cooperatively with other members in integrating and coordinating individual efforts into a unified program for the District.

2. Attends Board of Education meetings, serves as administrative liaison to the Board’s Operational Support Committee for agenda preparation, and prepares such reports for the Board as the Superintendent may request.

3. Keeps informed of, interprets, and assures compliance with all laws, regulations, statutes, rules, and policies affecting the Business Services Division.

4. Inaugurates studies and research in various aspects of the work of the Business Services Division.

5. Interprets and communicates the programs, philosophy, and policies of the Business Services Division to staff, students, and the community-at-large.

6. Prepares and maintains appropriate policies, state reports, and claims as required of the Business Services Division.

7. Develops Business Services goals, objectives, and priorities based on District initiatives.

8. Coordinates, synchronizes, and evaluates the work of those administrators reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.

9. Leads and directs the preparation, development, and subsequent administration of the District’s budget.

10. Maintains both internal and external communications regarding the business operation.

11. Assures that the Business Services Division’s activities are in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to health and safety standards.

12. Directs the District’s long-range planning process for capital improvements and long-term borrowing.

13. Establishes and supervises the accounting system necessary to provide school officials and administrators with accurate financial information.

14. Provides monthly financial reports on budget status as well as interim information as requested.

15. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Superintendent may assign from time to time.

16. Develops and administers policies of the Board of Education related to the business operation of the district.

17. Develops long-range budget projections.

18. Keeps current on topics, mandates, and other State and Federal regulations pertaining to the business function of the District.

19. Interprets the financial impact on the District of pending legislation.

20. Provides the Superintendent, Board of Education, and staff members with financial and budgetary information to help them in their relations with the public.

21. Oversees the leadership and administration of the national school lunch program.

22. Oversees the leadership and administration of planning, construction, maintenance and care of facilities and other physical resources of the District.

23. Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and Learning.

Communications Coordinator

Provide primary support to the District’s Director of Communications by advancing the district’s mission, values and goals through effective marketing communications. Continually improve the district’s print materials, electronic news, video programs and other methods of community outreach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
50%   Marketing and CommunicationsSupport the Director of Communications in strategic marketing and communications planning
Execute strategic marketing and communications activities to meet department and district goals
Provide ongoing evaluation of communications and marketing efforts
Support District, departmental and school communication efforts
Coordinate strategic use of District social media, e-newsletter, website, etc.

35%   Content ProductionCreate content to support communications and marketing plans, including written materials, photography and video for use in various media
Manage production of publications, including newsletters and other promotional materials
Coordinate production of content with other members of the Communication Department
Ensure consistent use of branding and style across the District
Edit and proofread materials for clarity, consistency and accuracy
10%   Departmental SupportSupport emergency and crisis communications
Provide support in planning and executing media relations activities, including data requests and crisis responses
Support planning and executing of special events

5%           Professional DevelopmentAttend meetings, in-services and workshops
Maintain active memberships in professional organization
Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Work Requirements and Characteristics
Education/Certification Requirement:BA degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field
Valid MN Driver’s License without restrictions
Experience:3 or more years of experience in marketing, public relations and communication processes and techniques
Experience in school public relations preferred
