Job Summary:

This position would include but not limited to classroom instruction in Family and Consumer Science within a Grade 9-12 facility.

A full-time (1.000 FTEs) assignment as a Social Worker or Counselor is available at Prairie Winds Middle School for the the 2018-19 school year.  This position works with students to support social, emotional, behavioral and academic support.  A valid Minnesota Department of Education School Social Worker or Counselor license is preferred. Additional licensure will be considered based on qualifications.  Application deadline:  August 6 or until filled.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a custodial position.  Preferably in a school environment.
  • Experience working with school district maintenance, procedures, methods and policies and the ability to properly instruct and oversee subordinates (ie: summer help).
  • Must have personal attributes necessary for working within a team setting and creating an inviting and welcoming environment.
  • Must be detail oriented

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be in good physical condition and have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds with no physical restrictions.
  • Must be able to work in confined areas (ie: boiler room).

Early Childhood/Title One Paraprofessional

Openings are available for the Graduate Teaching Fellow Program (classroom experience while working on a masters degree program in Education).  Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Teaching degree in Social Studies.

Seniors in a teacher education program who will complete all requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Teaching degree, complete all required testing, and obtain appropriate Minnesota teacher licensure by August, 2018, or recent teacher education graduates (who have not held regular teaching appointments) are eligible to apply.  Application deadline:  until filled.

Teaching Fellow positions are available in the following Professional Development School (PDS) participating districts:
