Pine City Public Schools is seeking candidates for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate will receive a competitive benefit package, with an annual salary in the range of $115,000 to $130,000, to be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. School District Information: Pine City Public Schools has an enrollment of 1600 k-12 students. In addition, to the elementary school and 7-12 secondary school, Pine City hosts an area learning center and a successful Level IV program. Children, families, and other district residents are also served through early childhood and community education programs. Pine City Public Schools employs approximately 240 licensed and non-licensed staff members. The superintendent is supported by four principals, a Director of Curriculum and Instruction, a Business Manager, a Community Education Director, a Technology Coordinator, Food & Nutrition Director, and a Director of Buildings and Grounds. A long needed, state-of-the-art auditorium was completed in 2014 at the High School to compliment Pine City’s strong tradition in the fine and performing arts. The district offers a comprehensive program of studies including College in the Schools, interactive cable classes and STEM. Pine City is currently in year four of our technology implementation. 6-12 has 1:1 technology, Grade 5 has 2:1 technology. iPads in grades 5-8, Chromebooks in 9-12. The SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition) model is used to guide our technology work in classrooms. The District has two .5 time integrationists in place, 1 technician, and one coordinator. We strive to have a balanced district by maintaining the academics, arts, and hands on programs including industrial technology and FACS. Pine City Schools is a member of the St. Croix River Education District (SCRED) and the East Central Minnesota Education Cable Cooperative (ECMECC). SCRED provides our District with a Unique Learners program which manages the special education programs, Outcomes Service – services related to data-driven decision making, and Instructional Services. ECMECC is a consortium offering us interactive cable classes and network and technology services. The school district’s operating budget is approximately $18 million. The district has a long record of stable finances with a focus of providing the best possible educational services with the financial resources available.
