Description:
1.0 FTE Director of Special Education, 8 hours a day for 260 Contract Days (Year Round).

Job Summary:
The Director of Special Services oversees special education programs within the Intermediate District.  The Director helps to support the learning and academic services for students who require specialized educational programs.

Qualifications:
Minnesota license for Director of Special Education or other administrative license or eligibility for such licensure;
3 years or more educational administration experience preferred;
Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with staff, students, parents, partnered agencies, and greater community;
Ability to communicate effectively;
Understanding of best practices when working with students with significant disabilities; and
Knowledge of current state and federal special education law and regulations.

2025-2026 Credit Recover – Night School Teacher

Job Summary:

Worthington ISD 518 is seeking to hire teachers for its 2025- 2026 Learning Center Credit Recovery Night School Teaching positions. Teachers will provide academic services for students going into 10th-12th grades (up to age 21) at the Learning Center. The program runs Monday through Thursday from September 2025 to May 2026.  Classes begin and end within each quarter, so teacher schedules can be created to work around other seasonal employment.  Applicants must have a valid Minnesota teaching license in K-12 or 7-12.  Teachers will earn $40.00/hour* (pending ratification of new teacher master agreement) and must have a valid Minnesota teaching license. Please specify preferred subject area on application.

Teachers will be expected to utilize technology in the night school instruction.  This will include uploading curriculum to Schoology for learning and assessments.  Instructional tools may include videos, power points, discussions, and worksheets.  Students will be expected to log into Schoology upon arrival to track their instructional time in the building.  In this position, teachers will need to keep accurate records to insure state funding for credit recovery classes.

English Language (EL) Teacher

Performs intermediate professional work enhancing student learning through individual and small group interventions, assessments and progress monitoring, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Essential Functions:

Implement lesson plans and strategy development;

Provide direct teaching instruction to identified Multilingual Learners, including newcomer students, to improve academic achievement in the areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening, as well as cultural orientation;

Collaborate with general education teachers to enhance lesson plans and select appropriate educational materials and activities that help Multilingual Learners meet curriculum objectives aligned with district curriculum and state outcomes;

Coordinate and/or deliver training as needed in regards to “best practices” to support English Language Development (ELD) for general education teachers;

Communicate the needs of identified Multilingual Learners to general education teachers to ensure student success;

Complete diagnostic assessments/screenings on identified students; monitor student performance, progress and behavior on a regular basis; maintain a classroom conducive to learning; reinforce information previously presented in the classroom; supervise students during the school day per established schedule.

Interpret results of diagnostic screening/assessments; implement appropriate interventions based on diagnostics; establish process monitoring groups and accurately enter and interpret data; regularly monitor students’ progress using Grade Outcome Measurements; assist staff in intervention procedures, data entry and provide instruction as necessary; maintain accurate attendance records, student progress, and direct behavior rating scale monitoring for each student; submit year-end data report as directed by supervisor.

Participate in internal and external meetings, open houses and special events; attend professional development activities and identify areas of growth and development; communicate with Teachers on a regular basis; attend parent and/or student conferences; Maintain a safe environment for students.

Elementary Principal (Prek-Grade 4)

Marshall County Central Schools is seeking a full-time elementary principal to lead Viking Elementary (PreK-1) and Newfolden Elementary (Grades 2-4)

MCC is a strong and growing district with dedicated teachers, supportive staff, and updated facilities. We are looking for a collaborative leader with a strong background in literacy, staff development, and PBIS to work alongside our elementary dean of students.

Our district serves students in two sections per grade level, with an average of 34–36 students per grade. We are located in Northwest Minnesota, near Thief River Falls. MCC recently completed a $20 million building project. The community takes pride in steady growth, expanding student opportunities, and a strong culture of continuous improvement.

Principal contract year is 210 days, with salary starting at $86,000 plus full family health insurance, VEBA/HSA, 403B match, Principal Association and BOSA dues paid by district, sick time, and life insurance. Salary is negotiable with school board and based on experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:Plans, directs, and controls activities to achieve or exceed objectives in assigned areas of responsibility, including Special Education and Student Support Services.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Program Development:

  • Direct staff in the development, management, and articulation of special education and health programs. Develop and manage the budgets for those programs under the direction of this position.
  • Prepare recommendations for new programs, program changes, facilities, staffing, equipment, and financing in all program areas under the direction of this position.
  • Prepare an annual plan and report that summarizes student participation, financing, and other related information relative to the programs under the supervision of this position.
  • Provide specific program evaluations that assist administration in the evaluation of program effectiveness and cost/benefit in those areas under the supervision of this position.
  • Represent the district and serve as liaison person with the Minnesota State Department of Education; keep district administration aware of changes, funding, accounting, reporting, evaluation, and staff certification; monitor changes in Federal, State, and local legislation and guidelines affective areas under the supervision of this position.
  • Ensure claims, complaints, and inquiries are handled promptly and appropriately.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments and agencies so that the needs and welfare of district students will be met.

Staff Development:

  • Delegate duties, responsibilities, and authority so each individual can make maximum use of his/her experience and skills.
  • Provide or encourage participation in staff development opportunities for those you supervise to develop the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their jobs; encourage individual development to meet the future needs of the school district.
  • Conduct appropriate job search for qualified candidates for vacancies in the programs under the supervision of this position.
  • Participate in annual review/evaluation of new hires in cooperation with building administration.  Make recommendations for retention of new employees.
  • Participate in District-level leadership activities and committees.

Personal Development:

  • Keep current with new laws, trends, materials, and methods in programs under the supervision of this position.
  • Attend meetings, conventions, conferences, and events that will contribute to an awareness and understanding of changes and new procedures in the programs under the supervision of this position.

Public Relations Development:

  • Promote public awareness and understanding of the programs under the supervision of this program.
    Invite public participation through publications, presentations, news releases, and the use of advisory committees.
