Pay Rate/Range:  NEA Agreement BA1 -$55,441 – MA40-$91,619. Base pay DOQ – Subject to change upon the settlement of the 25-27 NEA Agreement.

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Licensed Teacher represents a broad grouping of diverse and different instructional positions responsible for developing lesson plans to present district curriculum in assigned instructional subjects; delivering and instructing students in lesson plans and instructional material; evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional outcomes and objectives.  Licensed Teachers also participate and collaborate with other instructional professionals, administrators, parents, counselors, and other district personnel concerning student needs, issues and district learning initiatives, curriculum, and building issues.

Responsibilities:
Provides and delivers classroom instruction to students incorporating the essential elements of instruction.  Teaching at appropriate levels of difficulty.
Assessing student progress and determining the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional plans/techniques/goals.
Teaching specific learning objectives.
Employing various teaching techniques, methods, and principles of learning to best fit the needs of students and district learning outcomes.
Using appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning.

Plans and develops instructional plans, lessons, experiments, and other support activities to present approved district curriculum in accordance with district goals and objectives. Determines needs and abilities of students and determines methods and techniques to best present and provide instruction to students within assigned subject(s) areas.Organizes classroom supplies and materials.  Performs routine cleaning and housekeeping functions to maintain a proper learning environment.

Evaluates student performance against learning objectives.  Develops tests to test performance, grades performance, corrects papers, and conducts parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress, problems, strengths, concerns, or other pertinent issues of the student, family, and school. Attend workshops prior to the start of the school year.
Participate in Family Conferences.
Work with the PLC team.
Establish positive learning community and classroom routines.
Provide instruction for reading, math, writing, and social studies.
Provide Social-emotional lessons using the curriculum.
Complete report cards at the quarter and conduct conferences with families during the designated conference times.
Communicate effectively with staff and families.

Collaborates with other educational professionals and administrators regarding the needs of students, instructional needs new instructional technologies, or approaches to student problems, learning, or curriculum.  Serves on District committees, task forces, administrative meetings, or IEP meetings to provide assistance in curriculum development, assessing student progress and performance, or to participate in the building decision-making.

High School Counselor

Job Description:   Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Licensed High School Counselor at the Faribault High School.  This position commences with the 2025-2026 school year on August 25, 2025.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,700 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. Daily Pay Range: $259.04 – $485.53 depending on experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  Thorough knowledge of school guidance counseling principles, practices and procedures; community agencies available to serve and assist students; testing materials and ability to communicate results to students; ability to conduct interviews and guidance sessions effectively and to analyze attitudes and problems objectively; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, staff and administration.

Academic Support

  • Guide students in course selection, scheduling, and academic planning aligned with graduation requirements and postsecondary goals.
  • Monitor student academic progress and develop intervention plans for at-risk students.
  • Participate in intervention and attendance tea

College and Career Readiness

  • Provide resources and counseling for college applications, scholarships, financial aid, and career exploration.
  • Facilitate college and career readiness programs such as college visits, career fairs, and job shadowing opportunities.
  • Administer and interpret career assessments and interest inventories. 

Social-Emotional Support

  • Offer counseling for students dealing with personal, social, or emotional issues.
  • Respond to crisis situations and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful school climate.

Collaboration and Communication

  •  Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and outside agencies.
  • Participate in IEP team meetings, providing input and support for student plans.
  • Lead in the development of 504 Plans
  • Maintain timely and confidential records in accordance with school policies and legal guidelines.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a middle or high school setting.
  • Training or certification in areas like:
    •  Restorative practices
    • Trauma-informed care
    • College and career readiness platforms (e.g., Naviance, Xello)
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.

Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Elementary and Early Childhood Special Education provides leadership, oversight, and development of special education programs for students with disabilities in early childhood through elementary grades. Under the direction of the Director of Systemwide Special Education Services, this role ensures compliance with state and federal laws, supports high-quality instruction and services, and promotes equitable access to education for all students with disabilities.

This position plays a vital role in fostering inclusive practices, driving continuous improvement in special education services, and collaborating with district and community stakeholders to support student outcomes and family engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Program Oversight

Provide supervision and leadership to coordinators, related service providers, and other staff as assigned by the Director.
Oversee special education programming and services in elementary schools and community-based early childhood special education (ECSE) settings.
Supervise Extended School Year (ESY) programming for ECSE and elementary students.
Ensure consistent implementation of district-wide special education programs aligned with district goals and compliance standards.

Compliance & Due Process

Ensure adherence to federal, state, and district special education laws, regulations, and policies.
Provide expert guidance to staff on due process procedures, timelines, and documentation requirements.
Serve as Out-of-District Placement Representative.
Assist in the Alternate Dispute Resolution process as needed.

Professional Development & Staff Support

Lead professional development initiatives including CPI and Ukeru training; monitor effectiveness and recommend adjustments.
Conduct teacher observations and support performance management in collaboration with principals and supervisors.
Participate in recruitment and hiring processes to ensure the selection of qualified special education personnel.

Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate with building administrators and act as a liaison for special education services, supporting communication and effective problem-solving.
Assist the Director in leading the Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) to foster partnerships with parents, staff, and community stakeholders.
Support internal and external communication efforts to promote transparency and stakeholder engagement.

Budgeting & Resource Management

Assist in the development and oversight of budgets and resource allocations for ECSE and elementary (Grades B–5) special education services.
Monitor expenditures and ensure fiscal responsibility in program operations.

Crisis & Conflict Resolution

Respond to crisis situations and provide leadership in conflict resolution involving students, staff, or families.
Conduct Title IX investigations and HR-related inquiries as requested by the Director of Systemwide Special Education Services or the HR Executive Director.
 
Continuous Improvement

Support ongoing evaluation of special education programs and services.
Use data to inform decision-making and drive program improvement and equity-focused initiatives.

Other Duties

Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Systemwide Special Education Services.
