Qualifications: Valid State of Minnesota English Language Learner License
Position Purpose:  Facilitate the development of the English language for multilingual learners through co-teaching, direct instruction, assessment, and coaching.

Math Intervention Teacher

Owatonna Public Schools provides big-school opportunities in a right-sized setting to ensure opportunities for all students are realized in the classroom and in life.  We are a close-knit community of educators with high expectations for our schools and its students.  A Math Interventionist is responsible for planning and implementing  intervention strategies to support the whole child. The position is responsible for collaborating closely with the building administrator, educators, support staff, families and students. This includes direct instruction and intervention in and out of the classroom, as well as supporting other educators implementing math interventions in the buliding.

POSITION:
Boys Soccer Coach– 9th Grade Head Coach – Beginning August 14, 2023

QUALIFICATIONS:
Season Starts: August 14, 2023 – 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM (will depend on meet and practice schedule)

Compensation: Per Schedule B of the Centennial Teachers Contract and/or Booster Compensation as agreed upon.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Previous soccer coaching experience at the club, high school, or collegiate level
• Excellent communication skills when dealing with students, staff and community.

Responsibilities:
Work in partnership with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure alignment of the Centennial High School Boys Soccer program vision and mission as a whole.
• Hold organizational meetings for returning and new team members and encourage student participation
• Assess skills of student-athletes and determines team selections, in partnership with other coaches
• Schedules and organizes regular practice schedules to provide both individual and team development at all levels
• Coach and instruct students, individually and in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, techniques, and tactics of the game
• Observe students, during meets and practice to determine the needs for individual and/or team improvement
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior and always provides proper supervision of team members
• Monitor the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met
• Follow established procedures in the event of an injury
• Clear communication with parents/guardians providing program information
• Follow state, sectional, and school district bylaws and policies as it pertains to governance of the program
• Model sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards students, officials, and spectators set forth by the standards of the MSHSL and Centennial School District
• Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities while creating a welcoming environment for coaches and student-athletes at all levels
• Ensure adherence toward the required MSHSL training and education for self and each member of the coaching staff
• Provide opportunities for student-athlete participation in off-season clinics, camps, and program activities

Director of Finance

Summary:
Direct all business services to ensure that resources necessary to support District goals and achieve student outcomes are allocated and expended in a manner consistent with statutory requirements, applicable rules and regulations, and school board policies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage all financial planning, including budgets, levies, investments, bonding, enrollment projections and borrowing
  • Manage financial and accounting services which satisfy the needs of the School District and conform to requirements of the Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards (UFARS)
  • Coordinate a cost-effective property, casualty and liability insurance program consistent with statutory requirements, applicable rules and regulations, and School Board policy; assist the personnel department with payroll aspects of employee benefits administration
  • Review and compose all of the District’s non-labor agreements
  • Manage all School District elections in conformance with statutory requirements
  • Manage the School District’s cash flow so as to meet financial obligations and maximize investment earnings with statutory limitations
  • Act as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet in carrying out the day-to-day operations of the School District, preparing for and attending all School Board meetings, and advising the Superintendent and Board on matters relating to the Finance Department.
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department
  • Develops short-term and long-term financial goals for the district, regular financial forecasts, and other financial reports for internal and external use by the District.
  • Directs, plans and coordinates the District’s budget planning, development and implementation process.
  • Develop and lead implementation of the district’s long-range financial planning process including the district’s financial management strategy in alignment with the district’s mission.
  • Provide technical financial advice and counsel to managers and school board on all financial matters.
  • Maintain a system of controls and record keeping ensuring that expenditures are within the limitations of the approved budget.
  • Ensure improvement of the budgeting process by educating budget managers.
  • Ensure compliance, accuracy, timeliness and clarity in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with the executive director of human resources in the collective bargaining process by participating in contract negotiations and school board negotiations strategy sessions.
  • Maintain and improve administrative and operational accounting services for management investments, 403b/457 plans, grants, payroll, accounts payable and purchasing.
  • Oversee the annual District financial audit and submission for the Certificate in Excellence in Financial Reporting.
