The intended scope of this position is to support early childhood special education (ECSE) students with communication needs, primarily in inclusive community-based settings. Assignments are subject to administrative discretion and may be adjusted in accordance with programmatic needs

Job Summary: To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. Provide service and support in the area for which employed including writing and implementing individual scholar goals and objectives, evaluating scholar performance according to the goals and objectives on the Individual  Educational Plan (IEP) used by the district, promoting scholar achievement, maintaining required scholar records, making related reports to the site/department licensed administrators as prescribed or authorized by the superintendent, maintaining contact and communications with guardians/caregivers of scholars and working with them in the development of each scholar, performing classroom management duties, enforcing district rules governing the conduct, understanding and implementing due process guidelines following state and federal rules, regulations and district policy; make appropriate and equitable use of resources and technologies; implement the goals and objectives of the District and the school and/or program for which employed; provide in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous learning and services when applicable; work collaboratively with others. Willing to participate in district, building, and department leadership activities.  Ability to be flexible with work hours to meet the needs of guardians/caregivers, department, building and/or district at the discretion of the supervisor.

Description:  A Student Management Specialist uses restorative practices to build and maintain relationships between students, teachers, and parents. They help students to grow and to improve behavior while creating individual interventions for students. They also plan for and maintain school-wide systems, structures, and discipline. They are ambassadors for our community and believe passionately in the potential of our students.

Job Summary:

Assists principal in the overall administration of the middle school program;
Performs as a resource for teachers and staff who express concerns for student attendance, student development and/or discipline;
Coordinates efforts with guidance, police liaison officer(s), school psychologist, and/or social worker in meeting with students and parents to discuss improving student attendance and/or behavior;
Consults with families via conference or communication systems concerning student attendance and behavior;
Resolves student behavior concerns in a fair and timely manner and maintains records of disciplinary or referral actions taken;
Closely monitors the physical plant of the schools and grounds and follows-up on student vandalism;
Assists in the interpretation of school district programs relating to student substance abuse and truancy;
Makes recommendations for appropriate revisions of policies and rules effecting student behavior;
Assists in discussing strategies to improve student performance, attendance and development;
Assists in developing and administering practices dealing with campus control and security;
Maintains active relationships with parents, families and students;
Assists in establishing rules governing students sent to the in-school suspension/detention room;
Responds to written and oral communication regarding student development and discipline matters;
Serves as a member of such committees and attends such meetings as directed by the principal;
Assumes responsibility when all administrators are out of the building;
Performs other tasks and assumes responsibilities within the overall scope of the position which the principal may assign.

Interim Executive Director

COMPENSATION: $100,000-130,000. The position is a full-time interim position with benefits included and potential to evolve into a permanent position. Compensation to be commensurate with experience.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

North Lakes Academy is seeking an interim Executive Director to serve as the leader of the school and ensure its financial viability, enrollment growth, and overall organizational stability. The Executive Director is the public face of the school and represents its interests both on and off campus. Operating under the policy direction of the School Board and in accordance with federal and state laws, the Executive Director supports the Board by developing, refining, and implementing guidance related to school finance, program planning, and educational program review. The Executive Director is responsible for developing and executing strategies that strengthen student recruitment and retention, enhance the school’s visibility, and drive sustainable increases in enrollment. ​The Executive Director also has the authority to specify required actions and define operational procedures for the school. This work is carried out through strong leadership of school employees, collaboration with community members, and effective system management that advances student achievement, supports staff success, aligns with Board goals, and furthers continuous improvement across the organization.

Position Summary
The Manager, Community Education plans, develops, and evaluates Community Education programs in collaboration with staff and stakeholders. This role oversees program operations, staffing, and budget management while fostering innovation, quality improvement, and community partnerships. The Manager provides strategic and performance leadership, supervises program staff, and ensures compliance with all district policies and childcare regulations.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in community education, school-age care, or youth development programs, and a passion for leading teams, enhancing programs, and engaging diverse communities.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Supervision:

Site Supervisors (3-4 positions)
Additional staff as assigned
Indirect Supervision:Educational Support Professionals (40-70 employees)
Instructors (Kidstop/Four Star Express, 10-20 employees)

The Manager provides guidance, coaching, and performance evaluations for direct reports and supports program staff in achieving operational and student success goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership (20%)Align Community Education programs with the district’s mission and core values.
Participate in district initiatives, committees, and task forces.
Develop and communicate a shared vision for assigned program areas.
Conduct program assessments, prepare reports, and implement improvements.
Develop training materials and supervise building supervisors.
Performance Leadership (25%)Build staff capacity and apply technical expertise to enhance program effectiveness.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff, including providing timely feedback.
Lead delegation of tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training staff, including summer and school year employees.
Provide on-call or on-site support for program staff as needed.
Management (20%)Administer/monitor program budgets, monitor staffing ratios, and ensure fiscal accountability.
Ensure compliance with district policies, state childcare regulations, and permitting systems.
Implement data management systems and oversee program reporting and documentation.

QualificationsEducation and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Community Education, Education, Youth Development, Early Childhood, Human Development, Adult Education, or a related field (required).
Minimum of 3 years of relevant programming experience.
0-1 year of supervisory experience.
Experience in public school and/or community-based programming is preferred.

Accounting Finance Specialist

This position performs a broad range of clerical and accounting duties required to support all aspects of the school district’s finance department to ensure communication flow throughout all buildings district wide. In addition, they will be responsible for direct parent interaction in multiple programs for nonpublic students and associated MDE guidance. The position is also responsible for the school district fixed asset program and fixed asset accounting system.

Ensure compliance with federal and state reporting requirements, district policies and procedures, internal controls and audit procedures as they relate to the financial management and reporting of special education costs and reimbursements.
Providing training and feedback to building and finance support staff when appropriate. • Coordinate timely reimbursement requests with program managers.
Ensure that all district and audit requirements have been met. • Maintain accurate salary and benefit information for all assigned staff, ensure that UFARS codes match data from personnel and payroll departments and that UFARS codes are consistent with assignments and licensure.
Verifies and approves tuition bills received by the district.
Identifies and obtains tuition agreements for all non-resident students.
Processes requests for homebound instruction, including assigning teachers, contacting school and verifying necessary forms are on file.
Process Homeschool reimbursements in accordance with MDE Nonpublic Aid guidance.
Coordinate and process transportation of Nonpublic students.
