Behavioral Health Coordinator
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Behavioral Health Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in successfully managing state and federal grants, demonstrating a deep understanding of grant regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting procedures. Additionally, we are looking for someone with exceptional data analysis skills, capable of extracting meaningful insights from complex datasets to inform strategic decision-making and program evaluation.
General Definition of Work: The Behavioral Health Coordinator will support the operations of the leadership team to carry out the services of students, staff and families mental health support structures within our educational organization. The Coordinator is a key member of the district with responsibilities to serve as a professional department leader by assessing needs, plan for implementation of initiatives, coordinate curriculum and services and monitor for consistency and efficiency. Building internal relationships and community partnerships to ensure the district has ample resources to support students, families and staff needs.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with, coach and train staff, families and students on developmentally appropriate and culturally affirming social emotional learning (SEL) programs.
- Research and provide professional learning opportunities that build educator capacity to promote SEL and create brave, inclusive learning environments for all students.
- Integrate and maintain support systems across school, family, and community.
- Manage and train on data systems that inform student, educator, and families to support continuous improvement of student outcomes and experiences.
- Seek out and apply for grants to support mental health efforts, initiatives and curriculum.
- Research and train staff on best practice equity centered discipline practices supporting restorative practices and reducing disproportionally.
- Serve as the key leadership member on Trauma Informed Practices; lead professional development and coaching opportunities.
- Coordinate with the buildings and county/state on services and data management for homelessness, foster care, families in transition (FIT), attendance, and truancy.
- Support the district chemical health initiatives, policies and grants; and teaching and learning practices, in coordination with staff and county/city/state representatives.
- Serve as the district representative on the Rice County Family Services Collaborative Governing Board Representative; maintain relationships and be the voice of Faribault Public Schools.
- Support the mental health services team providing professional development opportunities and leading the team in all district mental health goals.
- Handles and leads crisis situations when necessary.
Support district staff and student well being; serve as chair of the Wellness Committee and Co-Chair of the - District Mental Health Committee.
