This is a TOSA position that will report to the Director of Teaching & Learning. They will support the district’s focus on effective literacy instruction by providing professional development and coaching on an individual and group basis. Director of Finance & Facilities

We seek a skilled and strategic Director of Finance & Facilities to provide expert leadership in the district’s financial operations and oversee facilities management, ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources.

Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the Director of Finance & Facilities plays a critical role in guiding the district’s financial planning, budgeting, compliance, and reporting. This position leads all aspects of financial management with a focus on public finance, while also overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operation of district facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance and Business Services

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the district’s annual budget aligned with strategic goals and objectives.
  • Oversee revenue forecasting, expenditure tracking, cash flow management, and short-term investment strategies.
  • Compile and analyze levy data and provide clear recommendations to the Superintendent and School Board.
  • Provides financial data analysis for buildings, programs, and negotiations.
  • Plans and coordinates capital purchases for the district.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial laws and regulations.
  • Lead and coordinate the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison with auditors.
  • Review and manage property & liability insurance coverage for school facilities and personnel.
  • Coordinate school elections and reporting to third-party agencies as required.
  • Supervise Business Services, Buildings and Grounds, and Food & Nutrition Services departments, including staff performance evaluations and development.
  • Present at School Board meetings and participate in relevant professional organizations.

Facilities and Operations

  • Oversee the Building and Grounds Department to ensure safe, healthy, and well-maintained school facilities.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, and manage major repair and renovation projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all school buildings and grounds to evaluate maintenance, custodial, and security needs.
  • Manage environmental safety programs, including material abatement and air quality testing, to maintain compliance and protect occupant health.
  • Chair the District Safety Committee to ensure adherence to all safety policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Monitor facilities-related budgets and expenditures to maintain financial accountability and efficiency.
  • Determine and prioritize district-wide maintenance needs and requirements.
  • Direct grounds activities and oversee custodial and maintenance functions to maintain optimal facility conditions.
  • Ensure all safety and environmental programs comply with state, federal, and local regulations across district sites and facilities.

Compensation Package: 

  • Starting base salary $120-140K commensurate with experience (year-round position)

Purpose of Position: The primary responsibility of our passionate and dedicated Social Studies teacher is to inspire and educate students in financial literacy, economic principles, and business fundamentals, preparing them for real-world financial decisions and career opportunities. This position requires a dynamic educator who can engage students through interactive lessons, project based learning, and real-life applications of economic and financial concepts. This class will have a strong emphasis on business, personal finance, and economics.

  • Encourage students to develop essential financial literacy skills for future personal and professional success.

4.     Professional Collaboration and School Involvement:

  • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and social studies education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and community partners to share ideas and strategies for improving instruction.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and school wide initiatives.
  • Support student organizations such as FBLA, DECA, or investment/finance club.

5.     Assessment and Progress monitoring:

  • Develop and administer assessments to measure student understanding and growth.
  • Provide constructive feedback and adjust instruction based on student needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

  • Provide mentorship and insights on entrepreneurship, investing, and financial planning.
  • Connect students with local businesses, financial institutions, and guest speakers to provide real-world perspectives.

Under the supervision of the Elementary School Principal, the Elementary School Assistant Principal provides assistance with instructional leadership, supervision, and management in implementing the policies of the School Board and district administration in the teaching, learning, and other activities at each Elementary School.
