Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate for the Dean position will provide leadership and build systems to support staff, schools, and the district in increasing appropriate instructional capacity that allows all students to meet or exceed expected growth each year, graduate from high school, and eliminate predictability in achievement through practices of educational equity.  This position will assist the Principal Team in leading the building’s efforts in creating a culturally competent and racially inclusive learning environment so that all students are successful.  The individual will also assist the leadership team in leading the design and implementation of the district’s instructional delivery and professional development in alignment with the district’s operational plan and individual school improvement plans. The individual will also assist the leadership team in leading the design and implementation of the district’s instructional methodology and professional development programs aligned with the district operational plan. Actively support district planning and improvement processes.

  • Assist teachers, parents and students in resolving academic and non-academic student issues in the school.
  • Maintains records of any student disciplinary actions taken in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and District policies.
  • Confers with parents, teachers, support services personnel and students on matters of discipline and problem solving.
  • Provides mentoring services to students and consultation services to parents.
  • Reports to administrators, teachers, school attendance staff, parents, and students relative to issues affecting student performance.
  • Recommends appropriate programs for students to assist them with behavioral problems.
  • Instructs and advises students regarding their responsibility to adhere to school rules and policies, to foster a safe school environment, and to respect other individuals and property.
  • Assists in arranging for appropriate tutorial instruction related to assigned academic work.
  • Assists administrators, teachers, and school attendance staff in addressing student attendance problems.
  • Assists in the administration of the In-School Suspension Program.
  • Arranges meetings as directed with students, parents, teachers, and administrators regarding disciplinary problems in school.
  • Counsels individual students as needed and makes appropriate referrals for testing, guidance or other services.
  • Coordinates with community and government agencies relating to drug and alcohol abuse, truancy, and other conduct.
  • Assists in developing policies and practices to assure building security and safety.
  • Assists in the preparation of student expulsion hearings.

Early Childhood Family Services Supervisor

Coordinates the Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), School Readiness and Early Childhood Screening programs district wide.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.        Coordinate program development, long range planning and program goals, curriculum, policies and procedures.

2.        Develop and coordinate an ongoing assessment of participant needs and interests, and address participants’ questions and concerns.

3.        Develop and coordinate an ongoing program evaluation process.

4.        Conduct observations of licensed and non-licensed staff.

5.        Oversee public relations, promotional strategies, including brochure development and flyers marketing the programs.

6.        Coordinate staffing process for teachers and paraprofessionals within early learning to meet program needs.

7.        Supervise, coach and evaluate Early Learning site coordinators and support staff.

8.        Develop and monitor the Early Learning program budgets; approve expenditures; seek alternative funding.

9.        Plan and facilitate all staff meetings and in-services.

10.      Administer the Early Learning Advisory Council and committees.

11.      Negotiate program space; work with building management and school personnel to manage sites; design site environments.

12.      Coordinate systems for record keeping and reporting to the Early Learning ECFE Advisory Council, Community Education Advisory Council, School Board and Department of Education.

13.      Plan, implement and monitor Voluntary Pre-K funding and programs.

14.      Work with community agencies to build collaborative programming and services.

15.      Coordinate with Community Education staff and programs.

16.      Coordinate with Special Services to develop integrated programs and services.

17.      Engage in District level leadership activities and committees.

18.      Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the building principal and dean and in collaboration with district administration, the Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) – Behavior & Academic Supports will work to enhance intervention systems that promote student success. This role will provide direct support for behavior and academic interventions, coach educators, and ensure equitable access to resources that foster student engagement, learning, and well-being. The TOSA will play a key role in strengthening multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) within schools, addressing both behavioral and academic needs to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications: Valid State of Minnesota License in Education

Salary Range: $53,432 – $108,172 for a 184-day contract 1.0 FTE  (Salary will be prorated based on contract days in assignment and fte, education and experience) Salary and benefits pursuant to the Chaska Education Association (CEA) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment: Compensation will be determined by District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA).
